In October of 2008, the capital of Puerto Rico will have a festival of regional and global reach. The projection of films for the general public will be complemented by activities for the film industry such as forums, lectures and filmmaker meetings. In addition, there will be interdisciplinary activities that will link film with theater, literature, the fine and the culinary arts.

The festival will have two anchor locations: the art-deco Metro theater in Santurce and the National Film Archive in the historical Ballajá building in Old San Juan. This cultural encounter will be an open activity; meaning that those who leave the theater will find themselves on sidewalks and streets that act as an extended part of the festival. The heart of the festival will be full-length fiction films but documentaries and animation films will also participate. The festival will have two sections and a sidebar, as well as activities to promote the local film industry.
